About Natalie
Natalie completed a degree in Silversmithing and Jewellery at Loughborough University in 2002 and went on to a years’ postgraduate course at Bishopsland Workshops near Reading.
Natalie then worked for an internationally renowned jeweller in London before moving back to the Midlands in 2006. Soon after Natalie moved into Banks Mill Studios in Derby, where her business is now well established and continues to grow.
Design influence for Natalie’s work comes from the rich, vibrant colours of the stones and beads chosen for their intrinsic quality and character. It is imperative the stones natural beauty always remains the focal point, for this reason Natalie usually finishes her jewellery with a matt texture.
Ethics
All stones used by Natalie Jane Harris are sourced from reliably ethical suppliers. To the best of Natalie’s knowledge gemstones have not undergone any irradiation processes to enhance colour or clarity.
Aftercare
Silver and gold jewellery can be cleaned using a mild detergent and warm water (Washing up liquid is fine). Soak the piece for a few minutes then use a soft, clean toothbrush to remove any dirt from the back of stones. Then dry thoroughly with some kitchen paper.
Due to the nature of some of the stones used, it is not advisable to wear jewellery while doing any manual tasks.
Please note that although these cleaning techniques have been tried and tested, you undertake them at your own risk. If in any doubt contact Natalie for advice or to arrange cleaning, re-stringing or re-finishing.
